and excretion. - Discuss the pharmacodynamics phase of pharmacology using appropriate terminology, including drug action, therapeutic effects and side effects, adverse reactions, toxic effects.
- Explain therapeutic range of drug action.
- Describe factors that influence drug action.
- Differentiate between therapeutic effects and adverse effects.
- Define terms related to side effects, adverse reactions and toxic effects of drugs.
- Discuss classifications of drugs.
- Describe how drugs are named, generic vs. trade.
- Discuss health law aspects and nursing interventions required for administration of controlled substances.
- Discuss information necessary in preparation of drug cards.
- Describe the effects of drugs on food and nutrients and the effects of food and nutrients on drugs.
