  1. A patient admitted with diarrhea is at risk for skin breakdown and dehydration. Assessment of the patient’s skin condition and hydration status would be important for assessing the severity of the patient’s illness. Hydration status can be assessed through evaluation of skin turgor with this patient due to normal skin elasticity in this age group.
